Australia

SUMMARY: I have seen about 85 mammal species in Australia; the highlights being Australian Spotted Cusus, Leadbeater’s Possum, Purple-necked Rock Wallaby, Black Wallaroo, Numbat, Northern Quoll, Red-tailed Phascogale and Ghost False Vampire.

I first visited Australia on a camper-van trip with my parents in 1982. However, most of my time there was during 2007 to 2011 when I worked as GM Exploration for Ivanhoe Australia, managing the Cloncurry Project in the outback of NW Queensland. I have returned on various mammal-watching trips since then, mostly with Chi Phan.
