Growing up in Zambia as the son of an avid birder gave me an early introduction to wildlife and travel; my focus is on small mammals. That and my work as an exploration geologist, primarily in Southern and West Africa, Mongolia and Australia, have taken me to many remote areas around the world; having visited over 85 countries and seen over 1,190 mammals.
Regions that I have lived in and worked include South Africa (8 years), Ghana (5 years), Mali (2 years), Mongolia (5 years) and the Australian Outback (4 years). No longer working, I now spend about five months a year in Thailand; a few months in California and South Africa (family bases) and on wildlife travels.
My recent trips and links are listed on the Home page.
